ROME – “I am publishing just a few frames of a truly incredible day to give you an idea of how the nature of this park can be wonderful and full of emotions”.Talking is Pietro Santucci, environmental educator and mountain guide, who he managed to capture a moment of intimacy between two bears in the Abruzzo Lazio and Molise National Park. “There were three of us, a few meters from the path since the first light of dawn.Suddenly, right in front of us, two bears appeared in an evident amorous attitude,” he says on Facebook.“For a good part of the morning they were exchanged effusions lovers in a game of seduction made up of tender bites, rubbing, 'passionate' embraces, heeling and repeated matings".

BEARS AND MATING
The mating season for bears falls in the months of May and June. They are promiscuous animals, they tend to mate with multiple partners for reproductive purposes. The moment of courtship can last a long time.For male bears, courtship is a long game of seduction.“Males and females perform a real ritual which can last from ten days to several weeks, during which the couple remains associated day and night,” he explains The bear and the ant.“When a male bear associates with a female, the latter remains receptive to other suitors.Therefore the male must never leave her unattended“.Furthermore, in most cases, "It's the females who lead the game: they can be very selective not only in choosing a mate, but also in the places and times of mating."
