World Environment Day, that's why it is celebrated on June 5th

The initiative shines a global spotlight on the urgent environmental challenges of our times

ROME – You cannot live in prosperity, nor be happy, in a sick planet: our health also depends on that of the Planet.This is stated by WWF in the World Environment Day (World Environment Day), the anniversary that, every June 5th, brings together millions of people from all over the world, engaging them in the effort to protect and heal the Earth.We can't turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources and restore soils.We are the generation that can make peace with our planet.

JUNE 5TH IS WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The premiere was celebrated on 5 June 1974 world environment day, with the slogan “Only One Earth”.THE'United Nations General Assembly chose June 5th as the date in reference to the first day of Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, which took place in 1972.On that occasion theUNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), global organization created with the aim of fighting the climate changes and protect the Earth's resources.

Today, as then, World Environment Day puts the global spotlight on urgent environmental challenges of our times, raising awareness of the importance of governments, businesses and individuals in creating a more sustainable world.
