Sure, building a model F-22 is fun, but as James Dicky said:“Flying is the only true emotion felt by man in the modern era.”So, once you've finished your wooden model, it's time to let one fly into the sky!

The materials

  1. There are many things you can build a small airplane with, but it must have two qualities:lightness and stability. There are not many suitable (and affordable!) materials, but some of these are cardboard and foam, famous for radio-controlled planes. You can make the airplane as big or small as you want, so buy as much material as you need.

The body

  1. You can take inspiration from photos of airplanes and create the shape from the photo. You can even make a simple rectangle with two wings if you want!
  2. When you're done you should have a plane shaped cutout.

The engine

  1. Find the center of gravity of the plane, you can do it by balancing it on one finger. When you find it, cut out a square at least 5-10cm square. This is where the engine will go.
  2. There should be a place where the wires connect to the motor, find them and attach the wires, but be careful to remove the covering first!
  3. Then attach the cable to the battery.
  4. Or you can get a battery holder to which you can attach the cables in the appropriate places.
  5. You should make it out of balsa wood, and give it the shape of the "infinity" sign (8) and then smooth the edges.Make sure it has a large surface.br>
  6. Then drill a hole in the center of the propeller and attach it to the duct. Now you're ready to attack it!
  7. Test it to make sure it has enough “pushing power”.If it doesn't have one, you can add batteries or use a larger motor, or a larger propeller.Take it outside and try it, it should fly if you do it right, but you should have to throw it to get it going.
  8. If you make a small one, you can attach it to a string, and then to the ceiling in your room, and it will go round and round!
