Sure, building a model F-22 is fun, but as James Dicky said:“Flying is the only true emotion felt by man in the modern era.”So, once you've finished your wooden model, it's time to let one fly into the sky!
-
You generally want the body to be flat, because the material is difficult to curve. You can take inspiration from photos of airplanes and create the shape from the photo. You can even make a simple rectangle with two wings if you want!
-
When you are ready with the project, draw it on the chosen material.
-
Now, you can use a saw or circular saw if you want, or a knife in case of lighter materials. When you're done you should have a plane shaped cutout.
-
You can also smooth the edges to increase aerodynamicsAdvertising
-
Now comes the difficult part. Find the center of gravity of the plane, you can do it by balancing it on one finger. When you find it, cut out a square at least 5-10cm square. This is where the engine will go.
-
Now buy a small engine like in this link
-
Then get a cable, not too long.
-
Finally, get some batteries, lithium would be ideal, but AAA and AA will also work fine.
-
Now we need to prepare the engine before placing it. There should be a place where the wires connect to the motor, find them and attach the wires, but be careful to remove the covering first!
-
Then measure the length from one end of the battery to the other, and cut it out, leaving some space.
-
Now, take more cable, but cut the rubber end, to free some of it. Then attach the cable to the battery.
-
Do the same thing for the other end of the battery.
-
Now you'll notice the engine starts, so you can add a simple on/off switch by removing a cable from the battery. Or you can get a battery holder to which you can attach the cables in the appropriate places.
-
Now all you need is the propeller. You should make it out of balsa wood, and give it the shape of the "infinity" sign (8) and then smooth the edges.Make sure it has a large surface.br>
-
Now find the diameter of the engine's air duct, or the thing that spins. Then drill a hole in the center of the propeller and attach it to the duct. Now you're ready to attack it!
-
You should be able to secure it with tape, either on the back or the front (the front will make it more stable). Test it to make sure it has enough “pushing power”.If it doesn't have one, you can add batteries or use a larger motor, or a larger propeller.Take it outside and try it, it should fly if you do it right, but you should have to throw it to get it going.
-
Have fun! If you make a small one, you can attach it to a string, and then to the ceiling in your room, and it will go round and round!

Advice
- You can also glue or tape other parts to it if you want, although many have used invisible or paper tape or tape.
