Despite the strong wind and rain, the boys and girls arrived by bus to the site, they have put on AMI hats, gloves and bibs and began at 10.30 to collect waste on approximately 400 linear meters of beach.
“We are collecting even the smallest pieces of plastic,” explains a fifth grader, worried about the future of the planet.“We have to defend the earth,” explains her classmate, “because we are destroying it with pollution.”

Satisfied with the results obtained and tested by the adverse climatic conditions, the girls and boys had a packed lunch and then returned to the school in Rome.
“For Ambiente Mare Italia it is an important day - declares the national president of AMI, Alessandro Botti - not only for World Earth Day, but because it is the last day of the 'Green Week'.There were 130 events in 15 regions, also accompanied by important institutions such as the European Commission, the Ministry of the Environment and Anas.On the day in which the world declares war on plastic dispersed in the environment, we, with 250 children, are here to give our testimony and our civil commitment".
