BOLOGNA – “Happy Earth Day 2024!Today's Earth Day doodle highlights the natural beauty and biodiversity of the planet and reminds us of the importance of protecting it for future generations."Like every year, also in 2024 Google celebrates Earth Day with a doodle dedicated to the event and this is the message that Google dedicates to today. And he decides to celebrate his Doodles, progress against climate change. The Google writing for the occasion is in fact traced with five satellite images which tell of the different ecosystems that the Earth hosts and remember what has been done to combat the effects of climate change.

WHAT ARE IMAGES

What is represented in the photos was explained by Google:these are photos of places, around the world, where “people, communities and governments work every day to help protect the planet's natural beauty, biodiversity and resources“.But which ones?

The first letter G is a photo of Turks and Caicos Islands;the next O is the Arrecife Alacranes (the most great barrier reef of the southern Gulf of Mexico);the second O, then, is the largest glacier of Europe, the Vatnajökull, located in Iceland. The other G is then a photograph of the Jaú national park, in Amazon forest Brazilian, while the L is the image of Great Green Wall in Nigeria:it is a large strip of vegetation more than 7 thousand kilometers long that goes from the western coast of Africa to the eastern one, created starting in 2007.The final E, however, shows the nature reserve of the islands of the Pilbara region, in Western Australia.
