The Italian celebrations, already recognized by the Earth Day Network in Washington as an international best case for the protection of the planet and the development of a strong ecological awareness, will have a further important meaning this year, becoming an iconic stage of the G7 Climate, Energy and Environment of Turin (scheduled for April 28th to 30th).In fact, two events of high symbolic value dedicated to intercultural and intergenerational dialogue are scheduled in the Piedmontese capital, supported by the Piedmont Region and held in the historic Environment Park technology park on environmental technologies.Furthermore, in collaboration with MASE and MIM, young university students and those in their final years of high school in Rome and Turin, together with a representation of their peers from the 7 G7 countries, will participate in thematic tables for the drafting of a text that will be brought to the attention of the 7 Environment Ministers involved in the G7.
“We are at the 54th edition of a celebration that should just be a great party experienced to reciprocate together the infinite joys that nature gives us,” he explains. Pierluigi Sassi, President of Earth Day Italia– But unfortunately we live in a time in which it has become more urgent than ever to make choices, to make decisions. In fact, never before has environmental sensitivity been consolidated in Italian and global public opinion, but we still struggle to transform this sensitivity into action. We are on the eve of the G7 Environment in Turin and our initiatives have been chosen as Flag Events to promote dialogue between cultures and generations. We ask all peace workers to enhance this important occasion, to make a difference and kick off a new season of common commitment to Peace and the Environment".
“Earth Day will be a very important prologue to the G7 which will take place in Turin.A fundamental event to take stock of our planet and discuss climate and energy, two indissoluble elements that go hand in hand.Climate and environment are at the same time a symbol to send a message of peace towards the resolution of conflicts".He declared it Mario Antonio Scino, Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.
