Steps
-
Make a buttonhole (ring) with the yarn.
-
Pass the hook inside the ring. Insert the hook into the loop, so that the long thread (the one coming from the ball) is under the hook. With the hook part of the hook gripping the long thread, lightly pull the two ends of the yarn until the loop tightens around the hook, but be careful that it is not overly tight.
-
Loop the yarn once through the hook.
-
Slide the hook through the first loop. You just made a chain.
-
Repeat the operation until the chain becomes the desired length. You are making a chain, which in magazines you will find abbreviated to:"cat".One loop must always remain on the hook.Continue practicing chain stitch until all stitches are the same size.
- Always keep your thumb and index finger close to the point you are working on, in order to ensure stability and good control (as in the photo in the previous step).
-
Cut the thread about 5 centimeters after the last loop.
-
Pass the thread through the last loop and pull. To solder the work, pass the wire you cut through the last loop and pull!Your work is ready.

Advice
- The size or size of the hook will have a lot of bearing on the tension of the chain;Always use the suggested crochet hook size for that type of yarn (this is written on the yarn package), unless you are extremely confident in your crochet skills and know what you are doing when using a different crochet hook.If the work is "loose" or loose, it is better to use a finer crochet hook, while if the work is tight, it is advisable to use a larger crochet hook. The more practice you do, the more these things will come naturally.
- Always work in good lighting conditions.
- The asterisk (*) in the instructions simply means "repeat" the instructions as many times as specified. If the instructions are placed in parentheses, it means that all the instructions inside the parentheses are repeated.
- Right-handed people work from right to left;left-handed people from left to right. For left-handed people, a useful trick is to put a mirror over the instructions (photo) to see them in reverse.
