“Do the right thing!”, twenty years of sustainability fair

MILAN – It is a fair, but also an imperative to take care of what surrounds us. “Do the right thing!”, the national fair of critical consumption and sustainable lifestyles in Milan turns twenty.The event, organized by the Terre di mezzo publishing house, is from 22 to 24 March, in pavilions 3 and 4 of the Allianz MiCo, in viale Scarampo.The underlying theme of this edition - which to celebrate its twentieth anniversary has presented itself with the glossary "From saying to doing" which tells through 80 words how social and environmental sustainability has changed from 2004 to today - is "Making the essential visible" , which is inspired by the famous phrase from The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry, which also inspired the promotional campaign designed for the event.

2 PAVILIONS, 475 EXHIBITORS AND OVER 350 EVENTS, THEY OPEN SOUP AND HOLY

Awaiting visitors there will be two pavilions with 475 exhibitions divided into eight thematic sections ranging from conscious tourism to great walks and outdoors, from critical fashion to eat as you speak, from green living to the planet of the little ones, up to all-round natural cosmetics. the vegan area and the one dedicated to peace and participation.This is accompanied by a rich cultural program with over 350 events including meetings, workshops, photographic exhibitions, tastings and shows, which can be consulted at the link https://www.falacosagiusta.org/la-fiera/programma-culturale/.

The meetings of this edition will be inaugurated on Friday 22 March at 11am Matteo Zuppi, archbishop of Bologna and president of the Italian Episcopal Conference, as well as special envoy of the Pope for peace in Ukraine.Also on Friday, at 12, the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè will speak to present the government's investments in Italian routes, also in view of the 2025 Jubilee, and sign a memorandum of understanding with the European Association of the Vie Francigene.There will be many Italian regions present to talk about the sustainability of slow travel, in addition to the Italian Alpine Club, which will present the new portal for hikers, with which it will be possible to book in the CAI refuges and in the main stopping points of the Italian Paths, and “Source water”, the “citizen science” project to identify and monitor the water sources found along the paths.

ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, PROTAGONIST STORIES

An important space at the fair is dedicated to school:As usual, Friday includes activities designed specifically for nursery, primary and secondary school students, with the aim of stimulating their curiosity and increasing their skills on the issues of environmental and social sustainability .“Challenges – Everyone's school” is also dedicated to the world of teachers and students:over 70 events offering certified training to teachers and school staff, but also to parents, thanks to the involvement of experts from all over Italy.The Social Cohesion Days are part of the fair, a festival born in 2014 from an idea of ​​the Easycare Foundation, an Italian non-profit organization which for 15 years has been studying the social changes taking place in society, designing policy and welfare and promote debate on current social issues.The guest of the festival will be the actor and writer Marco Paolini which, with its Cantiere Fabbrica del Mondo, tells stories about the earth that has become stuck;on the biosphere which is also an anthroposphere of animals, plants, stones, dams, plastics, bombs, regasifiers, boats, trains and knitting needles;on the interconnections that we pretend not to see;on problems and solutions, without purism and moralism.
