VERONA – “The outcome of the 2024 edition of LetExpo is extremely positive. From the first day the start was important and impressive, thanks to the participation of over 25,000 people.Added to the over 400 exhibitors set up in recent days are the numerous institutional presences and the participation of many young entrepreneurs. We conclude this edition today with over 100,000 attendees.I hope that those who participated in these four days had the answers they were looking for and above all had the opportunity to make commercial agreements.I wish many young people to have found the job of their dreams and to show how extraordinary this world is." These are the words of the president of ALIS, Guido Grimaldi, which outlined an overall assessment of the third edition of LetExpo, which was held at Veronafiere from 12 to 15 March.Inaugurated in the presence of the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia and the Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi.
In 2023, thanks to ALIS, 6 million trucks were removed from the highways and 143 million tons of goods were moved towards intermodality through ports and freight villages, with a reduction of 5.4 million tons of CO2 emissions. An economic saving for Italian families and citizens of over 7 billion euros. At the center of the event are delicate and current issues such as the crisis that is affecting the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, with a significant impact on trade between Italy and China with a total of 154 billion at risk.
The four days dedicated to the world of transport and sustainable logistics ended today with a video message from the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and one-to-one interviews from Director Bruno Vespa to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani and the President of Italia Viva, Matteo Renzi.
“I believe that today is an extraordinary conclusion because we concluded with the presence of very respectable personalities:Bruno Vespa, for example, an extraordinary man, who was the first to believe in our association. But not only that, the former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani were also present, to whom I congratulate and would like to extend heartfelt thanks to him for what he is doing with the entire government and with all the defense, to protect the men and women who are on ships today and who are part of our association of the Italian flag and to protect the interests of the country" concluded President Grimaldi in his closing speech at LetExpo 2024.
