Water emergency in Calabria, the Region declares a state of emergency

Serious water shortage in the Crotone area and Reggio Emilia.Occhiuto signs the decree

REGGIO CALABRIA – The president of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto, with a decree signed today declared the regional state of emergency of Civil Protection following the situation of serious water shortage of a drinkable nature, in the territories of the province of Crotone and the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, for which, last 24 July, the permanent observatory on water uses in the hydrographic district of the Southern Apennines, declared the water severity status 'High', specifically for the drinking water sector. Following this provision, the regional Civil Protection department will initiate, together with the Municipalities involved and the other interested bodies, an expeditious survey of the needs in terms of urgent interventions, mainly linked to assistance to the population.
