On Saturday 10 February, in Trento, a procession organized by StopCasteller was held in which a thousand people participated to demonstrate against the "uricide" policy of the Fugatti junta.Participating in the protest were 8 different animal rights signatures, supported by faces from the media, cinema and television, who have extended the protest against the local administration to the national management as well. The decision to organize a demonstration against the law regulating the management of large carnivores proposed by the autonomous province came later the killing of the plantigrade M90, against which the activists lashed out, denouncing the "cowardice" with which the killing of the bear was ordered "before the associations could appeal”.In addition to criticizing the "bear killing" law and the modus operandi in the management of M90, StopCasteller has expressed its concern regarding the decisions of the Province, which it appears to already have "in its sights" two other specimens.

The press release of the StopCasteller campaign informs that the "main animal rights associations" of LAV, LAC, LNDC Animal Protection, LEAL, ENPA, AnimaLiberAction, Ribellione Animale and Bearsandothers have joined the demonstration, supported by personalities from the world of information and entertainment such as the journalist Andrea Scanzi and the actresses Caterina Murino and Elisa d'Eusanio. The demonstration, according to the program, was supposed to start at 2.00 pm from the central Piazza Dante and then parade along the streets of the centre, which were monitored by the police. At the center of the protests was the "bear killing" law, which was approved by the council on Friday 19 January and which is expected to pass before the Provincial Council this March. It, StopCasteller reports, carries out the "project to kill 4 cubs and 4 adult bears a year" and risks bringing the Trentino bears dangerously close towards extinction, which would also happen "due to genetic isolation and skyrocketing poaching".StopCasteller's appeal, however, was not limited to administrative management, but also touched the communication side, mainly addressing Facebook groups in which they are shared reports of large carnivores. Finally, StopCasteller wanted to remind us "that responsibility also lies with national institutions:in particular, those that are stained with blood are the hands of Piero Papik Genovesi, head of the Ispra Wildlife Coordination Service", who gave his approval for the killing of the plantigrade M90, which is why, according to StopCasteller, he should resign.

The new rules proposals from the Fugatti council include the possibility of culling up to 24 bears by 2027 reduce the plantigrade population, despite the fact that they have often been actually dangerous questioned. The last animal he owned decided to demolish it it was the plantigrade Sonny-M90, who a few weeks ago would have followed a couple of hikers along the road that leads to Malga Farini, in Val di Sole, for about 800 metres.Previously, in autumn, the Fiona-F36 bear and the Johnny-MJ5 bear were also killed, respectively shot and poisoned, while in general "according to sources close to the Adamello Brenta park" it seems that "the bears killed in the last year they would be in the order of at least 20 or 30 individuals”.
