Three schools out of the 40 participating in the Erion WEEE educational project on circular economy issues were awarded

SALERNO - A survey, “But how much do you know?“, to ask kids questions about recycling such as, for example, “Do you know what WEEE is?”.This was one of the moments that accompanied the awards ceremony of "Materia Viva, at the WEEE school“, educational project by Erion WEEE on the issues of the circular economy and WEEE recycling, edited by Giffoni Innovation Hub And CivicaMente, which saw the participation of more than 10,000 students coming from over 40 schools.

STUDENTS FROM THREE SCHOOLS AWARDED

To the Giffoni Film Festival, in the blue room of MultimediaValley, the students of three schoolsand who took part in the project.In fact, thanks to a creative contest, the students of first and second level secondary schools - after having viewed "Materia Viva", the first docufilm dedicated to the topic of WEEE and the circular economy, created by Free Productions and sponsored by ministries of the Environment and Energy Security, Culture, University and Research – had the opportunity to create original videos on the consequences and environmental and economic impacts of consumption, focusing on the benefits deriving from correct disposal and recycling of electrical and electronic devices.

“We are thrilled to be able to conclude this project in a setting like the Giffoni Film Festival which, for the second consecutive year, has allowed us to meet these young adults and discuss issues with them that, it is nice to discover, are close to our hearts. .It is essential to raise awareness among young people about the importance of WEEE recycling and the circular economy, and we are proud of the work carried out by the students", declared Giorgio Arienti, general manager of Erion WEEE, who attended the awards ceremony with Luca Ruju, CEO of Giffoni Innovation Hub, Marco Falorni, director and author of “Materia Viva” for Libero Produzioni, e Marcello Ascani, content creator and CEO of Flatmates, who presented the prizes to the winning classes.
“This – said Falorni – is a good way to disseminate.We need these jobs, the imagination of the kids, the support of the teachers.We have already done it with "Materia Viva", a documentary that Libero Produzioni made for Erion WEEE, presented last year in Giffoni, and brought to schools.This is the inspiration through which the kids then made their short films."
