Wolf pack alarm in Vicenza.And the League calls the ministers

The deputies of the League Erik Pretto and Francesco Bruzzone presented a question to the ministers of Agriculture and the Environment

VENICE – “The presence of packs of wolves in several municipalities in the province of Vicenza is worrying.Their predations put residents in difficulty, who are afraid for their safety, but also farmers and breeders who in some cases struggle to conduct their activities peacefully, with the consequent potential economic, social and environmental damage to the territory".I declare it Lega deputies Erik Pretto and Francesco Bruzzone, questioning the Ministers of Agriculture and the Environment.

Among the many cases, the two parliamentarians remember "the donkey recently mauled a few steps from homes, with wolves wandering around undisturbed even in broad daylight in urban areas frequented by children and teenagers.We need timely intervention and for this reason we asked the Ministers of Agriculture and the Environment if they intend to adopt urgent measures to make the presence of the wolf compatible with human activities, respecting the maintenance of the right balance.A measure that we believe is necessary and in line with European legislation which provides, in the Habitats Directive, the possibility for member states to request an exemption to intervene on wild animal populations in certain circumstances".Pretto and Bruzzone are also confident that "the proposal within the European Commission regarding the transition of wolf status from 'strictly protected' to 'protected', a change that would allow for more flexible management of the problem by the institutions".
