Some farmers were planning to block the road until tomorrow morning

ROME - About a hundred tractors occupied via Nomentana at the Grande Raccordo Anulare, causing road blockages and traffic problems this afternoon. The tractors were mostly parked on the lane leading towards the city centre. The local police are on site.

The tractors then cleared away, protest returned. “No one will be reported and Minister Lollobrigida will meet us within 48 hours.”It is the result of a meeting in the prefecture of a delegation of farmers.Explaining it to the protesters is Salvatore Fais, leader of the farmers who have been stationed right in Via Nomentana for days.The decision to clear the road is not welcomed with enthusiasm by everyone. Some would have preferred to continue the protest and the discussion heated up heatedly for a few minutes.
