An invitation to restore balance with the environment to save ourselves and the planet. Bestiary it is a large urban artistic installation signed by the eclectic artist Angelo Cruciani, designed to help people rediscover the unique, complex and essential relationship between man, nature and animals. The initiative, born from an idea of Stefania Morici, is produced and organized by Arteventi And BeeBest in collaboration with Pubblimil, with the special consultancy of Patrizio Travagli, and is supported by the Municipality of Milan with the patronage of Milan is alive and of WWF.

Bestiary, open until 26 August

The installation, which will occupy over 500 m2 of via dei Mercanti until August 26, was conceived as a form of "cultural and social philosophical reflection" to stimulate public perception on a delicate and increasingly urgent topic:the role of man in relation to nature.

The inauguration will be held on Wednesday July 10th at 5pm and it will be an opportunity to remember the Seveso disaster which profoundly affected the conscience of Italians, pushing Italian and international authorities to strengthen regulations on the safety of chemical plants and to promote research on the prevention and management of environmental risks. For the occasion, thousands of butterflies will be released which will remember the 3300 dead animals and the 76,000 killed due to the disaster.

“The animals of Angelo Cruciani – explains the curator Stefania Morici– they will express the sacredness of life and nature, which must be protected and respected. The aim is to raise spectators' awareness of the protection of wild life and the protection of the ecosystem to guarantee humans and animals a better future. With this large installation, therefore, we will offer a new look at what surrounds us, using painting as a medium to convey messages that are now impossible to ignore."

Bestiary will invite you to see animals like sacred form of life. What Cruciani describes is, in fact, a universe understood as a continuously evolving living system that we all must take care of by becoming aware of not being the owners of the world.

“The perfection of all creation is a continuous lesson to man, which is often supplanted by selfishness and the belief that everything is ours, when in reality nothing really belongs to anyone - he states Angelo Cruciani – we are animals too, and we are certainly the most dangerous beast for everyone.”

Bestiary is an initiative included in the summer schedule of the Municipality of Milan - Milan is alive.
