«Are we obscene?Obscene is a government that continues to use the money of Italian families to line the pockets of potential companies that are leading us to climate and social collapse."This is what we read on the social networks of the activists of Latest Generation who this morning - Thursday 4 May - blocked traffic in Via del Tritone in the heart of Rome.Tied together with chains, the young people sat on the ground semi-naked on the pedestrian strips before Piazza Barberini, at the end of the street, with "written on their backs"Stop fossil”.«Non-violent civil disobedience is naked, like our bodies:but it's natural.The nakedness of the Government's incompetence, arrogance and inaction, on the contrary, is scandalous and obscene.Even more so in the face of the drama that many families and businesses in Emilia Romagna are experiencing at the moment", say the demonstrators who have long protested against the trade in fossil fuels and the inaction of governments in the fight against climate change.The police immediately intervened by moving the demonstrators to the sidewalk:they were stopped and identified.In the next few hours, a complaint and a fine could be issued (once again) against them for an unauthorized demonstration and road blockade.
