Do you want to light up the night making it shine with color without worrying about flames and dangers?Make some glow-in-the-dark lanterns for your next outdoor party.

Get enough glass jars to light up your party. Preferably choose new jars, so that dusting them with a damp cloth is sufficient.If you are using jars that are not new, remove any traces of food present and wash the containers by hand with hot water and detergent or in the dishwasher.Before starting your project, wait until they are perfectly dry.- It is important that each jar is equipped with an airtight lid.In fact, you will need to close them and shake them to bring the lighting to life.If the lid does not fit perfectly, the fluorescent liquid could leak.

Get the glow sticks. Buy in large quantities, about one for each jar.

Clean and dry the glass jars. New jars can be cleaned with a simple microfibre cloth, both internally and externally.

Protect your work area with newspaper or an old cloth. Although there will most likely be no leakage, it is always best to be cautious.Before cutting the glow sticks, therefore, take the necessary precautions.

Hold the glow stick directly over the opening of the first jar and cut the tip off with scissors. Make a single clean, precise cut, otherwise you could cause an unwelcome mess.A sharp pair of scissors should create a clean cut along the top of the sticks.

Pour the fluorescent liquid directly into the jar below. In your opposite hand, hold a piece of paper so that you can grab the opening of the stick as soon as it's finished.Throw away the empty stick.

Close the jar with the lid tightly. To avoid dirtying the surrounding surfaces it is important that each lid adheres perfectly to the respective jar.

Advice
- Attach small stickers to the inside of the lantern before inserting the fluorescent liquid, they will create unexpected shapes.
- Create your lanterns 20 - 30 minutes before the party starts, or during it.
- For later use of the jars, clean the inside with paper to remove fluorescent residue and then soak them in hot, soapy water.
