ROME – A penguin was born at the Cattolica aquarium:the little one, belonging to the Humboldt penguin family hosted by the structure, is a male and he has two older sisters:he is in fact the third child of the couple formed by Babba (said Tris) and Lalla.Before this new baby arrived, Pera was born in 2012 and then in 2022 Pinguetta, who had been baptized by the Youtuber couple 'Me against You'.

What is the penguin's name?It will be decided through social media:the Cattolica aquarium launches a social initiative on Instagram and TikTok: the followers will choose the name of the puppy, which will be baptized on January 6, using the hashtag #benvenutopinguino.

THE BIRTH OF THE PENGUIN

Mom and dad took turns brooding the baby for weeks:penguins have a plate of bare skin at the base of the trunk called an "incubator plate", with which they take turns keeping the egg warm until it hatches.Once born, the penguin is watched closely until it moults:when the soft gray down gives way to adult feathers, it's time to face the water.From the first days of life the newcomer showed himself very playful and quite clever, his parents worked hard to convince him to leave the nest and feed himself independently.Immediately welcomed into the colony, the baby also thrilled the public with his funny and adorable attempts to swim like "the grown-ups".

To participate in the 'naming' initiative, the Cattolica Aquarium is launching an initiative on social networks.Followers will be able to suggest a name for the little male from the profiles @acquariodicattolica on Instagram and @acquariodicattolica on TikTok using the official hashtag #benvenutopinguino.
The winning name will then be revealed on January 6, 2024, Epiphany Day, in a public event that will coincide with the first feeding of the day and the official "baptism" of the little one.
