They entered Rinascente, with a confetti shooter and a megaphone, to raise awareness among people inside the shopping center and threw flyers

MILAN – This morning at Milan in Cathedral Square nine activists of Latest Generation they held a sit-in in front of the Renaissance, opening two banners with the writing “Repair Fund”.Three citizens entered Rinascente, with a confetti shooter and a megaphone, to raise awareness among people inside the shopping center and threw flyers.The slogans were raised:“We inform our kind customers that there is an eco-social collapse underway”, “The offer to stay within 1.5 degrees is limited, hurry”, “Come with us to talk about the climate collapse that awaits us”, inviting people to come out and join the assembly.

The citizens in Piazza Duomo promoted a popular assembly outside the shopping center, interacting with passers-by.Passers-by joined the assembly and sat in a circle to discuss the issues highlighted by the protesters' signs:“Assembly in progress…join us”, “Pause your shopping there is a climate collapse underway”, “The society we want is renascent”, “Imagine with us”, “We are risking our future”.During the assembly, the Dixit cards were used as a facilitation tool, to talk about the future we would like, and what is blocking us from achieving it.

Pietro of the Last Generation stated:“Today we are here at Rinascente where we have interrupted the daily routine of shopping, to remind people that in this pre-Christmas shopping frenzy the climate crisis continues, and that we can interrupt these activities for moments that can help us build something, such as a citizen assembly, reminding us that we are in power, despite the farce of governments that continue to promote climate denialism."
