The show "Ask the mountains" is presented first in Milan and then in Varese:is a co-production between the Teatro filodrammatici di Milano, Karakorum Teatro and the Italian Alpine Club

ROME – Wednesday 6 December, at 8.30 pm, the Filodrammatici Theater of Milan, in collaboration with the Italian Alpine Club, hosts “Ask the mountains“, a lesson-show for two voices with Marco Albino Ferrari, one of the most active and well-known authors in the public debate on the future of the highlands, and the actor Emanuele Arrigazzi. The show will then be repeated at the Spazio Yak in Varese on 15 and 16 December 2023 at 9pm.It is a co-production between the Teatro filodrammatici di Milano, Karakorum Teatro and the Italian Alpine Club.“We are happy to support this important artistic production which puts the mountain at the center in a thoughtful and innovative way and which constitutes the first support of the Italian Alpine Club for theatrical performances, an activity that it intends to cultivate in the future within the newly created Cai Cultura commission. In fact, we believe in culture as a representation of the values that animate the CAI and its members", declared Angelo Schena, added member of the CAI Central Steering Committee.

The real protagonist will be the mountain, a symbolic place that triggers reflections on the great changes of the current time, the climate crisis, the loss of biodiversity, the phenomena of overtourism, even coexistence with large carnivores, topics that push man to engage in these years of profound rethinking of life models.“The mountains, as will emerge in this 'theatrical documentary', they are becoming a real laboratory of change working alongside the city in its ability to innovate;they are becoming cutting-edge socio-environmental places where new and good practices can be implemented;they are becoming an invitation to be part of the changing history,” says Marco Albino Ferrari.

During the show, Ferrari and Arrigazzi will give voice to the stories of Luciano, the very strong climbing partner and bivouacs under the stars, which goes submerged by an avalanche, of Alessandro, the dreamer friend and company captain, ofChiara ethologist, who studies the Alpine finch lurking in the storm, ofbear, whose shadow disappears at dusk behind the house in the woods. They are emblematic stories collected over a lifetime and which, from the dimension of personal memory, are now filled with new meanings, projecting themselves onto a public and universal scale.A show that overturns the biographical story with irony and lightness, instilling the question about from the very beginning what role can be played in the great game underway for the future of the planet. And, of course, the mountains will provide clues. If you know how to read and interpret, the mountains can be a great school, generating opportunities for the well-being of the planet and individual happiness.Because the mountain, in the incessant connection between one and all, can reveal much more than itself.
