RIMINI – The Italian Public Relations Federation and Ecomondo, in partnership with Assoambiente, present in Rimini on Friday 10 November «The goal missing from the 2030 Agenda».Communicators, journalists, climate change experts and businesses to talk about the ecological transition with responsibility
FERPI and Ecomondo will kick off the "Good Communication Forum" together on Friday 10 November from 10.00 to 13.00 at the Rimini Fair (Via Emilia 155).The objective is to add to the 2030 Agenda the goal that is perhaps still missing:the one dedicated to responsible communication. The 18th goal is proposed in the document “Open call to the PR profession to add a new goal to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of United Nations” drawn up by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, which represents over 320,000 professionals and academics from main global public relations and communication associations and institutions, including, in Italy, FERPI.
“The topic of responsible communication is a fundamental and transversal issue for Ferpi:the correctness of sources, transparency and authenticity when communicating corporate practices and sustainability objectives can make the difference in the public debate. The Forum intends to compare the different voices that have the task of increasing the awareness and responsibility of citizens and intermediate bodies and, ultimately, of trying to change daily behavior in the direction desired by the ecological transition". Filippo Nani, President of the Ferpi-Italian Public Relations Federation, told DIRE at Ecomondo in Rimini.
The Italian Public Relations Federation has decided to join the proposal Global Alliance by signing the appeal to the United Nations to include responsible communication in the sustainable development goals. The ecological transition is a complex and urgent process that requires everyone's contribution. When opinions polarize, even systematically, we risk losing sight of the common objective and this can lead to conflicts and delays that frankly we can no longer afford. To achieve the sustainable development objectives it is necessary to overcome the divisions and differences between operators working in the environmental sector and beyond.
“Having an annual forum here at Ecomondo – the most important trade fair on the circular economy in Italy and leader in the Euro-Mediterranean area – dedicated to these topics is a truly precious opportunity for all information and communication operators committed to supporting the objectives of the 2030 Agenda”, says Filippo Nani.“I invite all Italian communication organizations to actively participate in this campaign to increasingly influence public opinion, institutions and businesses and promote all the sustainable development objectives of the 2030 Agenda”.
The proposal to add an 18th goal to the 2030 Agenda will be discussed in two panels that will talk about the two sides of the green communication coin.First of all, the commitment of people to inform themselves and share the objectives of the ecological transition in Italy.Secondly, the ecological transition between truth and deception:to understand how to dispel mystifications, fears, fake news and return, instead, to the centrality of a sustainable approach for businesses, societies and future generations. The event is divided into two sessions opened by as many keynote speeches:the first entrusted to the meteorologist Serena Giacomin and the second to the director of the newspaper Domani, Emiliano Fittipaldi.
This is the program of the event, opened at 10.00 by institutional greetings from Filippo Nani, president of FERPI.
