VENICE – “This was an unexpected tribute as unexpected", says the president of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia to the news of fossil, about twenty centimeters in length, of a new species of fish, which scientists proposed to call Zaiaichth post, as tribute to the governor and the Veneto Region by way of recognition for the important support to the protection and enhancement of the paleontological site and to support the project of candidacy for UNESCO site of the Val d'alpone.

UNIQUE PLACE IN THE WORLD WITH 290 SPECIES CATALOGED

“We are convinced that this site deserves UNESCO recognition, because it is a unique place in the world with 290 species listed, a real primacy.The application dossier is at an advanced stage and is on the Tentative list or Propositional List.Those of the UNESCO awards are long gone, but we we trust in the strength and quality of this application”.Highlights the governor introducing this morning the in-depth study dedicated to the press, at Palazzo Balbi, on the work of promotion and protection in progress for the Fossils of Bolca and for the Quarry of Pesciara.
