CAGLIARI – The misadventure of the deer rescued in recent days on the beach of Piscinas, southern Sardinia, by the Guspini Foresters did not end with a happy ending. The animal, a male wounded in a paw probably by a rival during a mating fight, died from the severity of the injuries sustained in battle.
The deer was found by the Foresters thanks to a report on the morning of September 29th, and rescued with no small effort:“The complex operation was carried out thanks to the precious help of a private individual who made an operating machine available - explain the Foresters - facilitating the intervention of the Forestas staff and the regional agency's veterinarian”. The injured deer was then transported to the Croccorigas forestry site, where it was operated on the following day, unfortunately to no avail..
