The disabled climber Moreno Pesce discovered and documented the writing written on one of the most photographed peaks in the Dolomites yesterday morning:"This is not a healthy mountain, a rude awakening for the three peaks of Lavaredo"

VENICE – “Tourists go home“:a large black writing was drawn with a permanent marker on the rocks of the Tre cime di Lavaredo, one of the most beautiful and famous peaks in the Dolomites. It was he who found the writing and denounced it with a video on social media the climber and athlete Moreno Pesce, who sadly released images of the writing stigmatizing the initiative.“I prefer not to comment,” says the athlete who has a disability and is without his left leg after a motorbike accident.“The stone where the fossil footprint is also smeared like this..It's not a healthy mountain.Sorry, this thing is bitter. It's not a nice awakening today for the Tre Cime", he says in the video posted yesterday morning a few minutes after 7 on his Facebook profile. And in the post that accompanies the video he writes:“Loving the mountains and sharing a passion is not this… Good life but above all good and healthy mountains… different from this”.

THE DISTURBED ROCK IS THE ONE WITH THE FOOTPRINT OF A DINOSAUR

The writing was traced on a particularly important rock because it is the one that housed the fossil footprint of a dinosaur, therefore also of great scientific value. The boulder, which measures approximately 2 meters in height and 2 meters in width, is located on the path that leads from the Auronzo refuge to the Tre Cime. The dismay of the President of the Region Luca Zaia arrives immediately on social media:“The first person who should stay at home is the author of such a gesture if he confuses freedom of thought with that of living in the mountains scarring the most beautiful peaks in the world.Everyone is free to express their ideas but there are the correct ways and channels to do so; deface a common treasure, recognized as a world heritage site, certainly is not.And it's also a terrible example."

ZAIA:“FRAGILE AND UNIQUE SITES, THIS IS NOT RESPECT FOR THE MOUNTAINS”

“Not only that the rock was defaced but even a prehistoric testimony - underlines the governor - we find ourselves faced with an absolutely reprehensible act.I trust that the protagonist realizes what he has done and repents of it.I thank the athletes who discovered and reported this graffiti I hope it can be deleted”.Zaia concludes with a final consideration:“Demonstrate interest in defending the mountains from an excess of tourist presence by harming them with permanent inscriptions fragile and unique sites it's not really a demonstration of respect or love towards our 'high lands'.Certainly tourism must be guaranteed in a sustainable way but it is life for our valleys. The scars are just an incomprehensible insult”, concludes Zaia.
