The Fashion Film Festival Milan 2022 has just concluded, once again confirming its importance as a democratic event capable of bringing the public closer to the world of fashion through cinema.Over 260 works from 60 countries around the world were presented.Among documentaries, short films and experiments, the competition founded and directed by Constanza Cavalli Etro a rich selection of films were shown that were able to analyze fashion not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also from a social and environmental point of view.
The green winner of the Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022
In the category dedicated to sustainable fashion, established for the first time in 2018, the selection of titles was varied and innovative.He took first place on the podium New World Order by Timur Celikdag for The Travel Almanac Magazine.
Mass surveillance, social injustices, climate change, and separation from loved ones are just some of the conditions we have experienced recently.But a positive aspect that we can take from all this is precisely what is told in the film that won the green category of the Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022:the drive to do things differently and to treasure everything that is part of our lives.Our job is to take care of the world around us.
The nominated sustainable fashion films
Among the numerous films nominated for the Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022, this year's selection included two other films nominated within the category dedicated to sustainable fashion.The first is Keep Moving by Joana Deusdado and Sofia Miranda, created for the young textile recycling and yarn producing unit, Valerius 360:a journey that takes viewers through the life cycle of clothes and the possibilities of recycling fabrics, showcasing shapes, colours, textures and facts.A film that seeks to inspire the audience to think about the future and conceive fabrics in a continuous sustainable circular movement.
The film instead focused on the protection of the textile tradition in the communities of the island of Sumatra "Preserving Minangkabau Textiles by director Randy F Darius.Through the Limpapeh social enterprise, developed by LP2M West Sumatra with support from the Australian Government, this video shows the value and beauty behind empowering women to continue their traditional practices by starting their own businesses.An initiative aimed at providing economic stability and empowering women with financial independence.

With the intention of acting as an amplifier of social and environmental issues that affect the world of fashion and today's society, once again Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022 has been able to bring to light creative works capable of dealing with delicate issues in an artistic and expressive way .
