It can be difficult to open cassette clasps (or clasps) if you're not a little familiar;generally, they are mounted on pearl necklaces. They consist of an oval element and a hook that remains mostly hidden, a detail that prevents you from visualizing the mechanism and understanding how to open it;however, after a few tries, you realize that it's easy!Remember, however, that people who suffer from arthritis or other similar diseases that limit hand movements may encounter great difficulties.
-
Find a necklace with a clasp similar to the one shown in the attached image.
- Remember that the image is only a drawing, therefore the clasp may appear significantly different;Furthermore, there are many models of different shapes, so take all these details into consideration.
-
Hold the oval element in your non-dominant hand. The flat portion should face you, while your thumb and index finger should rest on the narrow sides.
-
Press the thinner sides where your fingers are (as shown in the picture).
- As you go, push the back end of the hook into the oval until you feel it loosen and then pull it outward.
-
At this point, the clasp should be partially open, just as depicted in the image.
-
Rotate the hook around the small metal pin until you have pulled it out.
-
That's it! The series is finally open!Advertising
-
Keep the necklace around your neck and hold the clasp in front of your throat so you can see it.
-
Grab it as if you were opening it and follow the steps in the previous section, but in reverse.
- Thread the pointed end of the hook around the metal pin as shown.
-
The oval part and the hook should be joined together as in the image. This way, the hook can slide inside the clasp in a straight path.
-
Slide the hook into the oval element. You should hear a slight "click" or feel the hook snap into place.
-
The clasp is closed, now you can show off the necklace during your evening. Once tightened, it should look like the second drawing of the item.Advertising
Advice
- Practice closing and opening the clasp several times before putting the necklace on.
- When wearing it alone, hold the clip in front of your throat and observe what you are doing in the mirror;when finished, turn the jewel and bring the closure to the back of your neck.
- If the clip is very blackened, you should have it cleaned;if the necklace is made of pearls, do not try to clean it yourself, but contact a professional.
