RIMINI – The mucilage nightmare in the Adriatic Sea in the middle of summer is back, what to do now? From Romagna, beach operators have been dusting off the solution of swimming pools on the beach for weeks now, hoping for new permits.A proposal that has the approval of the mayor of Rimini, Jamil Sadegholvaad and is also starting to make inroads on the 'upper floors' of Viale Aldo Moro, headquarters of the Emilia Romagna region in Bologna.
A NEW BEACH LEVEL WITH “WATER GAMES AND POOLS” COMING TO RIMINI
In recent days, the first citizen of Rimini has in fact announced the arrival at the end of the summer, in the city council, of a Beach plan open to the creation of water games and swimming pools for bathing establishments “under particular aggregative conditions”.A proposal that meets the appeal of the interested categories and shows the desire to meet a sector that has had to deal with the mucilage phenomenon and "an alternative is needed", comments Sadegholvaad.
CORSINI:“YES TO POOLS ON THE BEACH, BUT THEY ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE SEA”
Today from Bologna theEmilia-Romagna Tourism Councilor Andrea Corsini, with a “Yes” to swimming pools on the sand, but under certain conditions and with salt water.Of course "they certainly cannot replace the sea", warns thecouncilor Corsini, according to which people after all "come to the Riviera because there is the sea, this is not the answer to mucilage".Corsini intervenes in this way, speaking with 'Dire' in the debate sparked by the mayor of Rimini Jamil Sadegholvaad, who would like easier rules for the construction of swimming pools by the sea, also as a response to sea conditions unfavorable to tourism such as this year's mucilage.
“THE ARE ALREADY IN THE LIDS AND THEY CAN BE DONE BUT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS”
“I would like to avoid going back to a debate from the Nineties, 'swimming pools yes, swimming pools no', also because it is not truthful”, the regional councilor immediately stated, on the sidelines of a press conference today.
Swimming pools “can be built even now, it's not like we need to make who knows what regulatory changes of a national or regional nature. There are many swimming pools in the bathing establishments of Romagna, because in recent years they have been built on the basis of agreements between the Municipalities and the Superintendencies and are foreseen in the plans of the beaches".
“I say - Corsini continues - that swimming pools must be built under certain conditions, not in all establishments but only in some contexts, with rules that are defined and agreed with the Superintendencies. And with thesalt water, I add, because we must avoid water consumption by using sea water."The Greens themselves had stopped the mayor of Rimini, recalling on this point the drought problems that have marked these last summer seasons.
