Meteorologist profession, the (free) 3b meteorological Academy arrives

3b meteo proposes a second edition of the 'Meteorologist Profession' Academy for young people who study atmospheric sciences and want to approach a profession that will be increasingly in demand

ROME – “Although young people appear to be strongly concerned about ongoing climate changes, very few decide to study this subject. The figure of the meteorologist is in great demand in the private sector and will increasingly be so.To address these training gaps, from 18 to 22 September 3B Meteo organized the second edition of its Academy, completely free of charge".Gaetano Genovese, Meteorologist and project manager, declared:“The 3B Meteo Academy represents a unique experience for students attending degree courses in atmospheric sciences and meteorology.This year's theme, 'Profession Meteorologist', was chosen to provide participants with an overview of the professional figures required by the company and in the world of meteorology in general".

“Climate change” is one of the most frequent searches on engines on the web.International studies show that young Italians are very concerned about Global Warming, but it seems that few decide to undertake a course of study aimed at becoming meteorologists.This professional figure is increasingly in demand and There are many possible specializations.Currently in Italy there are only 4 universities that offer these study paths.Precisely to fill the gaps in training, 3B Meteo organizes a series of events every year aimed at creating culture around this theme.After the success of the first edition organized in 2022, 3B Meteo has decided to repeat it, creating the second edition of its Academy, this time too totally free and without any expense to the students involved.

From 18 to 22 September they will be hosted in the 3B Meteo headquarters in Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo) 8 university students or recent graduates in the field of atmospheric science and meteorology studies, who will have the opportunity to discover the various specializations of this subject in the field. The 8 participants were selected among many curricula arrived via the dedicated form and were chosen by the 3B Meteo team based on the reasons that guided them.

The focus of this path is training which will also allow you to better understand future job opportunities.In fact, weather forecasting represents only a small percentage of the work that a meteorologist must carry out.Every day, students will be engaged in a theoretical part aimed at illustrating and understanding the differences between the various specializations of this figure.In fact, there are 7 of them: forecaster meteorologist, communicator meteorologist, model meteorologist, analyst meteorologist, alpine meteorologist, editor meteorologist and nowcaster meteorologist.The theoretical moment will continue with the explanation of the role of the meteorologist in seasonal forecasts, in the era of climate change and in the communication of hydrogeological-hydraulic risk.This will then be followed by an important path dedicated to practice in which students, supported by tutors, will be able to personally verify the differences in predicting the weather in the North, on the Adriatic side, in the Center and in the South of our country.

Gaetano Genovese, Meteorologist at 3B Meteo and responsible for the project, explained the reasons why the company does its utmost to organize these meetings:“The goal is create a bridge between university and the world of work, which allows students to choose without hesitation which path to take.3B Meteo has always embraced the concept of Lifelong Learning, which finds its maximum expression in the Academy:through the lessons held by the 3B Meteo team, both the participants and the meteorologists themselves strengthen their skills and gain experience of teamwork, essential for solving the complex problems presented by the world of meteorology".

The program of the second edition of the Academy will therefore develop with both theoretical and practical lessons with the school tutors and a final ceremony in which the certificates of participation will be awarded.Participants benefit from all these initiatives completely free of charge.
