BOLOGNA – Students in environmental lessons.In fact, a few days after returning to school, Hera's educational activities also return, with its environmental education programs in schools of all levels, organized for more than 20 years.So here it is “The great machine of the world”, dedicated to the four-13 year age group And “A well of science” for the 14-19 age group, with over 70 new free activities of your choice on energy, water, environment but also innovation and sustainability.An educational offer that in the 2022-23 school year alone involved almost 100,000 students in over 4,000 classes.Great participation, therefore, for the initiatives which, integrated into school programmes, have the aim of supporting teachers and students in studying urgent topics such as the circular economy, recycling, waste collection, climate change and also scientific innovation.
This year there is also the new challenge"#GmmChallenge“, aimed at children and families, which rewards small daily actions with the planting of new trees in the city, up to 300 in a year.“Our commitment is to train more informed and responsible citizens, so that they can become protagonists of a complex but possible future", underlines Valentina Cervellati, head of Hera Group school projects.A "quality interdisciplinary teaching proposal, available free of charge to the entire school community, to stimulate an increasingly environmentally friendly awareness, a solid culture of sustainability among young people and at the same time give them useful tools to act on change", adds Giuseppe Gagliano, central director of Communications and External Relations of the multi-utility.
ACTIVITIES FOR AGES 4 TO 13
With “The Great Machine of the World”, Hera wants to make the little ones aware of their role as protagonists in caring for the environment:starting from the cartoon chosen for the cover of this year's leaflet, created with the cartoonist Alessia Iotti (aka Alterales), which depicts determined young people advancing towards the future with pieces of the Earth's puzzle in their hands:the message is that each with their little piece can make a difference.New to this edition is the first Science Show with effective experiments for primary schools and tinkering laboratory dedicated to middle schoolers to discover how to give new life to electronic waste through inventions. Come back the Waste Inspector which, with its transparent box, will guide the kids in differentiating effectively.And then space for laboratories, scientific courses on climate change, Classy “plogging”. (jogging while collecting rubbish, ed.), challenges between teams, webinar with experts like Luca Mercalli up to the creation of a real podcast on water with the participation of radio speaker Gianpiero Kesten.
THE WORKSHOPS FOR THE 14-19 GROUP
