ROME - Enpa, Leidaa and Oipa, represented by the lawyer Valentina Stefutti, have challenged yet another "bear killing" order from the president of the PAT before the Trento Regional Administrative Court, Maurizio Fugatti, this time against the F36 bear. For its part, the National Animal Protection Agency declares:After JJ4, MJ5 and M62 (found dead in circumstances not yet clarified), this time the designated victim of the grotesque fury of Fugatti against large carnivores is F36, another mother-bear.
“With this latest faunicidal measure, a true insult to the memory of Black cherry, the president of the PAT has crossed the line.It is increasingly clear that Fugatti's decisions have only and exclusively a persecutory purpose towards bears, wolves and any other animal that he dislikes."
A purpose which, in the case of F36, appears to be even more evident. In fact, last July mother bear and her cub were harassed by two hunters: the bear, who was at a high altitude and was sleeping peacefully with the little one, then reacted to defend him - a natural behavior for any living being, including man - and to push the two men away, one of whom fell in the escape .The killing order, therefore, is unmotivated, disproportionate, senseless and cruel.
“That of Fugatti For bears it's a real obsession. In this situation we hope that the leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, who shows himself to be so attentive to the protection of animals, will intervene on his party colleague to bring him back to reason. However, the president of the PAT can be certain that any further provision will be challenged in all appropriate forums."
While waiting for the TAR of Trento to express its opinion on the urgent appeal of Enpa, Leidaa and Oipa, the death sentence of F36, radio-collared and therefore traceable, is already executable. This is why Enpa appeals to the Trentino Foresters to follow their conscience and spare the life of an animal that had the sole "fault" of being molested.
