AOSTA – “Purified from propaganda veils and data monomissions imposed by the client, the study itself admits the senselessness and unsustainability of a cable car line in the Cime Bianche valley, which is also completely borne by Aosta Valley taxpayers".Marcello Dondeynaz of the association says so Starting again from the Cime Bianche, who spoke this morning during the press conference called together with Cai of the Aosta Valley to analyze the feasibility study of the interval connection between the Ayas Valley and Valtournenche. The study was commissioned by Monterosa spa - the company that manages the cableways in Val d'Ayas, in the two Gressoneys, in Champorcher and in Valsesia - and carried out by Montecno of Bolzano for a cost of 403,000 euros. For the CAI and the Ripartire dalle Cime Bianche committee, it is a "lame" document with "glaring and fundamental shortcomings".
First of all the regulatory question:“The documentation does not address the essential, preliminary issue of the regulatory and legal feasibility of this intervention.A question that we have asked since December 2020, before the assignment of the task, without ever obtaining feedback", explains Dondeynaz.Which adds:“Should the Regional Council decide to undertake a procedure aimed at implementation, we are ready to oppose it in all legal venues, up to the European Court of Justice. For this reason, from now on we will not spend another word to argue our well-founded belief that such an intervention is legally impossible and that any public economic resource used for this purpose constitutes damage to the state".
The committee representative also underlines that the study "does not present a single piece of data and a single assessment on the state of the existing systems, on the need for their modernization and replacement and on the return in terms of attractiveness of the areas involved“.And again "there was no perceived need or no desire to listen to the opinion of the recipients of the intervention, or rather the demand addressed by the new offer, but we carried out the investigation, with our questionnaires".During the summer, in the square of Saint-Jacques, in Val d'Ayas, the committee and the CAI in fact proposed a paper questionnaire to tourists returning from walks, collecting around 700 responses. The results of the investigation will be presented on Saturday 16 September, at 3pm, at the Sant'Anna cinema in Champoluc.
