MEP Fiocchi:"Problem subjects must be eliminated"

ROME –  The protection enjoyed by wolves must be weakened.They are animals that cause damage to farms and flocks and are also dangerous for humans, so it is necessary to eliminate problematic individuals.This was stated in a note by the Fratelli d'Italia-Ecr MEP and member of the Envi commission of the European Parliament, Pietro Fiocchi.

“I have been fighting for some time together with other colleagues in Brussels regarding the downgrading of the wolf from particularly protected to protected species, given that the number of existing wolves does not place this species at risk, but above all for the damage it causes to rurality in mountain farming and sheep farming with increasingly numerous and unsustainable predations”, writes Fiocchi.

“They recently signed up attacks on humans too not to mention the losses of hunting and companion dogs.Now let's proceed as soon as possible at a national level too - concludes the MEP - the Project Life Wolf Alps in fact it is outdated and I hope that the economic resources will all go towards fully compensating the damage caused by the wolves, eliminating so-called problematic subjects“.
