Minister Pichetto launches sustainable nuclear platform

ROME – The Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, has called the first meeting of the 'National Platform for Sustainable Nuclear Energy'.The meeting, chaired by the owner of MASE, will be held at the ministry's headquarters in via Cristoforo Colombo.

“The 'platform' will constitute the subject of connection and coordination between all the different national actors who in various capacities deal with nuclear energy, safety and radiation protection, radioactive waste, in all respects.In particular, the focus is on the development of technologies with low environmental impact and high safety and sustainability standards“, said the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, speaking at the Ambrosetti Forum underway in Cernobbio.

“The activity of the platform, coordinated by MASE with the support of RSE (Research on the Energy System) and Enea, will also be aimed at strengthen Italy's contribution to research and higher university education (degree courses, master's degrees and research doctorates), implement cooperation and participation at a European level and the coordination of projects and activities at a national level between universities and research bodies", concludes the minister.
