Bonaccini in Casola Valsenio, a town hit by more than one hundred landslides

The president of Emilia-Romagna:"We will not be satisfied until 100% compensation and compensation are guaranteed, as promised by the government"

BOLOGNA – Inspection by the President of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, this afternoon in Casola Valsenio, small village in the Romagna Apennines, in the province of Ravenna on the border with Tuscany, particularly hit by the flood last May. The territory has been completely modified by landslides, more than a hundred, triggered by the exceptional wave of bad weather.Bonaccini first met the mayor Giorgio Sagrini and the deputy mayor Maurizio Nati in the municipality to take stock of the situation on the damage still present and the restoration interventions underway to return to normality.Subsequently, the meeting with some farmers and breeders who continued their activity, despite the extreme difficulties caused by the May flood.“We are close to the territories, the people, the companies.And this is why we will not be satisfied until 100% compensation and compensation are guaranteed, as promised by the government“, reiterates Bonaccini.“This morning we presented a new provision from the Region to help those who have been affected, a provision which concerns access to zero-interest credit for small and medium-sized businesses, artisans, traders and professionals in the flooded areas to restart their business.A bridging measure, awaiting compensation from the State, which we activate as a Region by allocating the necessary resources and thanks to the agreement with the Confidi", recalls the governor.

"Furthermore, in the next few days we will approve the bill, which we will ask the Legislative Assembly to approve on an extraordinary basis and quickly, on the use of the over 50 million euros donated through regional fundraising:of these, half will be used for the contribution of up to 5,000 euros to those who have had to scrap their car or have had it destroyed and need to buy it again", he confirms.In Casola Valsenio Bonaccini also met with the unions of Saint-Gobain workers, engaged in the defense of jobs, both direct and related.A construction site is currently underway on the territory of the Romagna municipality, financed with ordinary resources from the regional agency for territorial security and civil protection, for the restoration of the hydraulic functionality of the Senio river. Other construction sites will soon be activated for extremely urgent works on the hilly part. These are interventions always linked to the Senio basin, which will be carried out with the incoming resources recently announced by the reconstruction commissioner, Francesco Figliuolo.
