E_mob 2023:electric mobility invades the heart of Milan

Milan is ready to welcome the seventh edition of e_mob, the festival dedicated to electric mobility coordinated by Class onlus, which takes place this year from 7 to 10 October.

Now consolidated in the Italian panorama, as well as representing one of the main ones meeting points for businesses, public administrations, research institutions and non-profit organizations committed to promoting zero-emission mobility, e_mob is also an important opportunity for debate and innovation in the sector.

In many quarters, electric mobility is defined as a real one revolution.Starting from 2035, all new cars and vans destined for the European market will have to have zero emissions in compliance with European directives which aim to make the transport sector completely sustainable by 2050.A synergy among the different players in the electric mobility sector is essential to successfully face the challenges and exploit the opportunities of this revolution, helping to create a more resilient and sustainable ecosystem.

THE'objective of e_mob is exactly this:plan and create the future of mobility together, describing it from different points of view, with all its implications and in all its declinations.

From 7 to 10 October, Piazza Duomo and surroundings will host a large exposure of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and vehicles and other innovations in the sector.This will be a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the world of electrics up close, from commercial vehicles to local vehicles, including buses and scooters, test drive motorbikes and pedal-assisted bicycles and discover the latest innovations in mobility sustainable, for an immersive and engaging experience.

THE'inauguration of the exhibition space is programmed Saturday 7 October at 09.30 in the presence of Attilio Fontana, governor of the Lombardy Region, Arianna Censi, councilor for mobility of the Municipality of Milan e Andrea Dellabianca, member of the Council of the Milan Monza Brianza Lodi Chamber of Commerce.

The e_mob conferences and meetings

In parallel to the exhibition space, this edition will also host the national conference of electric mobility which will be held on 9 and the October 10th at Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milan, with the possibility of following the conference in person by invitation or in streaming on the dedicated online platform.The conference program includes tables round, debates And insights on crucial issues for the sector.

Specifically, the October 9th it will be the day dedicated to institutional greetings and discussion forums with the protagonists of the sector, with a particular focus on politics and its priorities for achieving an energy transition.During this day the highest institutional officials will be present to discuss proposals that emerged during the e_mob 2022 edition and explore the role of the Recovery plan.

The October 10th, instead, it will be a day dedicated to technical aspects, with a series of seminars and discussions.These sessions will delve into topics such as new professions in sustainable mobility, thecircular economy for electric, the key tools to achieve an effective transition, renewable energy self-production, synergies between renewable energy communities and electric mobility and the electric transition of freight transport.

A fundamental aspect of the entire event is the Metropolitan charter of electric mobility, a document created during the 2017 edition of the festival and signed by over two hundred Italian municipalities.The guide, which promotes more sustainable and cleaner mobility through the exchange of information and good practices between municipalities, is updated and presented annually during the event with a dedicated session which this year will take place on October 9th at 4.30pm.

Among the meetings, the presence of LifeGate is also worth mentioning Tuesday 10 October in the 2pm panel during which Roberto Sposini, journalist, chief mobility editor LifeGate, will present i survey results of the ninth Observatory on sustainable lifestyle, conducted by LifeGate in collaboration with the Eumetra MR research institute:an opportunity to talk about the opinions and habits of Italians regarding sustainability choices in daily life.

Participation in the conferences is free and open, but registration in advance is required.

The pre e_mob conference on the second life of automotive batteries

Even before the festival begins, e_mob is celebrating its seventh year with the pre-conference on Wednesday 4 October at the Testori Auditorium in Milan on the circularity of batteries for electric vehicles.This preview will offer an overview of crucial topics such as the reuse and recycling of used batteries, as well as discussing the challenges and opportunities in the battery supply chain.

The meeting will bring together representatives of institutions, research bodies and leading companies including Giorgio Maione – Councilor for the Environment and Climate of the Lombardy Region, Camillo Piazza, president of Class onlus, Luigi De Rocchi, Research and Development Manager of Cobat type and president of Cobat, Marcello Colledani, associate professor at Polimi, and many others.It will be a unique opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the reuse and recycling of used batteries.
