What Momoa's sneakers are made of

The two limited edition sneakers are covered in 100 percent fabric organic cotton, while the internal part of the shoe is made with algae worked by the US company Bloom which converts them into an ecological material, the Bloom foam, with physical characteristics similar to those of some plastics. The insole is then in cork, while the outer sole is composed of Eco pure mixed rubber which, in contact with microbes, helps reduce decomposition time in landfill.Bloom technologies help reduce water pollution by containing the proliferation of harmful algae, which are used to produce sustainable materials. But that's not all:the shoe also features some references to tattoos of the actor de Game of Thrones.

“Aquaman”'s commitment to sustainability

Perhaps not everyone remembers that Momoa is passionate about sustainability. In 2019, the actor had turned to United Nations to talk about theocean pollution and of water inequality.“We are the disease that afflicts our planet,” he said in his speech."The oceans they are in a state of emergency. The warming of the seas is compromising entire marine ecosystems and we must also face the emergency of pollution from plastic because all the world's waste ends up in our waters. There is more plastic waste in the oceans than stars in the Milky Way."Already in 2012, to raise awareness of the issue of plastic pollution and to encourage people to recycle shaved his beard. But now it seems to have a solution to the problem:In addition to sneakers, Momoa has launched his own company that distributes them plastic-free water, Mananalu. The alternative? Recyclable aluminum cans.
