Timberland launches its eco-innovation week and presents GreenStride

On March 1st Timberland is making an appointment for a digital talk dedicated toeco-innovation which will open the eco-innovation week, with guests and insights related to products and processes that contribute to sustainable development, obtaining direct or indirect ecological improvements on the environment.

The event (lasting 45 minutes) will take place on1 March at 6pm and it will be the first of a cycle of talk scheduled in Milan, in store OREFICI11, which will also be broadcast online at www.orefici11.com.For those who miss the streaming, you will be able to find the podcast of the talk the following day on Spotify on the OREFICI11 profile.

The location chosen for the eco-innovation week is a symbolic place of Timberland's commitment:not a simple shop, but an innovative and multi-brand space, in which digital and physical experience intertwine and where the community finds opportunities to discuss values ​​dear to the brand, such as circular design, the sustainability and theexploration.

This talk will be an opportunity to present a concrete example of eco-innovation:the brand new ones GreenStride™ comfort soles, for which Timberland replaced 75 percent of petroleum-based materials with renewable sugarcane and tree-derived rubber.  

For all participants in the live stream or podcast, Timberland reserves one special gift to be collected at the OREFICI11 store, in via Orefici 11 in Milan, which will allow, by going to Cascina Nascosta, to receive a second zero kilometer gift prepared in their Latteria.

Timberland inaugurates a series of meetings

Take inspiration from nature to become a protagonist of change.This is the path traced by Timberlands for the development of its production strategies, based on regenerative agriculture And circular design.A choice in the name of sustainability and with ambitious goals:reduce the environmental impact of the products to a minimum, achieving a net positive impact on nature by 2030.To tell all this and share the values ​​of its mission, the brand has decided to launch a series of conferences and events open to the entire community, which will be inaugurated by the talk on March 1st.

The guests of the debates will be experts who have chosen to be inspired by nature to bring about change and who will put their experiences and knowledge at the service of everyone.

The guests of the eco-innovation week

The speakers of the first talk organized by Timberland will discuss the topic ofeco-innovation, addressing it from the points of view of business, civil society, design and from a global perspective.There will be a focus on the city of Milan, theater of the event.He will be among the guests Isabella Colombo,  Global product director, Women's footwear casual Timberland, who in addition to presenting GreenStride™, will talk about the brand's thirty-year commitment to sustainability and the current vision oriented towards circularity and a net positive impact on the environment.Barbara Meggetto, president of Legambiente Lombardia, will reveal the Hidden Cascina project, located inside the Sempione park and of which Timberland is main donor. Daniele D'Orazi, tutor of Marangoni Institute Milan, will explain how recycled material can be transformed into something aesthetic and innovative and how fashion and design collaborate to create a culture of sustainability among the new generations, in the name ofupcycling design and of thecircular economy.

Media partner of this series of events promoted by Timberland is LifeGate, who will participate in the first talk with its managing director Thomas Perrone, moderator of the debate, and with its scientific director Simone Molteni, which will give an overview, providing data and deadlines to achieve the carbon neutrality.We will also talk about how it is possible to generate awareness and monitor the evolution of Italians' sensitivity on the topic, with mention of the national observatory on sustainable lifestyle created by LifeGate and its version dedicated to the city of Milan.

The subsequent talks will take place in conjunction with the World Sustainability Days, starting from April 22, World Earth Day.
