VIDEO | Hurricane Milton has become category 5, five million people fleeing Florida

The outer layers of the storm are hitting the coast with winds of up to 260 km/h.Also alert for the formation of tornadoes

ROME.Hurricane Milton it's coming.And it is more and more angry.It moved to category 5 with winds of 260 km/h, according to the 5 am update from the National Hurricane Center (NHC).The storm is now about 300 miles southwest of Tampa, and moving northeast.

“The center of Milton is forecast to move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico today, will make landfall along the west-central coast of Florida late this evening and will move off the east coast of Florida over the western Atlantic Ocean,” the NHC said.

Official forecasts indicate that Milton will land on the coast of Florida slightly attenuated, but still in category 4, with winds of around 210 km/h.The outer bands have already started to hit the coast.
The warning was also issued for the Georgia coast, from Altamaha Sound near Brunswick to the Savannah River.

The hurricane also brings with it the risk of the formation of several tornadoes, warns the Storm Prediction Center (SPC).More than 3 million people in parts of Central and South Florida are now at 3 in 5 risks.
