  1. A magic ring is a type of adjustable ring made by forming a ring with wool, pulling another ring through it, and chain stitching to make the sides of the ring.Does not count as first lap.
    • Form a ring around your fingers with the yarn from the ball on the right and the tail on the left.
    • Insert the hook into the ring, grab the ball of wool from behind, and pass it through the ring from the front.
    • Make two chain stitches.
    • Pull the two ends in opposite directions to close the ring.
  2. Make ten double crochets in the magic ring. When you're done, join the last double crochet to the first using a slip stitch.
    • To double braid, wrap the wool over the hook, insert the hook into the loop, and pass the wool over it again.
      • Pull this wool through the loop, pass the wool over the hook again, and pull the top portion through the two loops on the hook.
      • Wrap the wool onto the hook once more, and pull this new portion through the two loops on the hook.
    • To make a running stitch, insert your hook into the next loop stitch, hook the yarn, and pull it through your project stitch and the loop on your hook.
  3. Row two chain stitches. In the next stitch of your round, do another double crochet.Make three more chain stitches, then work two single braids around the vertical portion of the previous double braid.Make a running stitch in the next stitch from the first round.
    • For a single weave stitch, insert the hook through the appropriate stitch, grab the wool, and pull it back through the stitch.
      • Grab the wool again.
      • Pull the wool through the two loops on your crochet hook so that only one is left.
    • When making these double crochets, insert the hook into the first stitch of the previous round.Complete the double braiding steps as before to complete the stitch.
  4. Form four more tips using the same technique you used for the first tip. When you're done, finish the last one with a slip stitch in the first stitch of the original round.
    • Make two chain stitches.
    • In the next stitch, double crochet.
    • Make three more chain stitches.
    • Make a running stitch in the next stitch.
    • Row two single braids around the base of the double braid.
    • Make a running stitch in the next stitch to close each stitch.

    • For these double crochets, work the hook in the first stitch of the previous round instead of in the magic ring round.
  4. Follow the same steps used to complete the first toe to complete 5 more. Finish this second round of toes by making a slip stitch in the first stitch of your original round.
    • Make two chain stitches.
    • In the next stitch, double crochet.
    • Make three more chain stitches.
    • Make a running stitch in the next stitch.

  1. A magic ring is a type of adjustable ring made by forming a ring with wool, pulling another ring through it, and chain stitching to make the sides of the ring.Does not count as first lap.
    • Start with your first color, or Color A.
    • Form a ring around your fingers with the yarn from the ball on the right and the tail on the left.
    • Insert the hook into the ring, grab the ball of wool from behind, and pass it through the ring from the front.
    • Do a chain single.
    • Pull the two ends in opposite directions to close the ring.
  2. Make ten single weaves in the magic ring.Join the end of the twists to the first using a slip stitch.
    • For a single weave stitch, insert the hook through the appropriate stitch, grab the wool, and pull it back through the stitch.
      • Grab the wool again.
      • Pull the wool through the two loops on your crochet hook so that only one is left.
  3. Pull the wool of the second color, Color B, on crochet.Crochet a single chain, and then make two single crochets in the first stitch of the previous round.Make a single crochet stitch in the next stitch on the previous round, and repeat.Join them to the first single crochet of the second round using a slip stitch.
    • To make a running stitch, insert your hook into the next loop stitch, hook the yarn, and pull it through your project stitch and the loop on your hook.
  4. Pull the wool of the third color, color C, on crochet.Chain five stitches and then single crochet into the second chain from the hook.Do a half double crochet in the next stitch, a double crochet in the next one, and a triple crochet in the one after that. This creates a single point of the star.
    • Skip two stitches and join the tail coming out of the ball from the previous round with a sliding stitch.
    • Chain five more times and repeat the tip-making process four more times.
    • To make a half double braid, wrap the wool around the hook and insert the hook into the appropriate place.
      • Wrap the wool over the hook again and pull it through the stitch.
      • Pull the wool over the hook one more time before pulling it through all three loops on the hook to complete the half double stitch.
    • To double braid, wrap the wool over the hook, insert it into the appropriate place, and pass the wool over the hook again.
      • Pull this wool through the loop, pass the wool over the hook again, and pull the top portion through the two loops on the hook.
      • Wrap the wool onto the hook once more, and pull this new portion through the two remaining loops on the hook.
    • To make a triple braid, wrap the wool around the hook twice before inserting it into the appropriate place.
      • Wrap the wool over the hook again before pulling the hook and wool through the stitch.
      • Wrap the wool over the hook again and pull it through the first two loops, leaving three on the hook.
      • Wrap the wool around the hook and pull it through the two loops above.
      • Wrap the wool over the hook and pull it through the two loops remaining on the hook. This should complete a triple weave.
  5. As you do this, make a slip stitch over the first slip stitches you made and make two single stitches on the top of each tip.
    • Cut the wool, pin it, and tuck in the tails.Alternatively, you could simply knot the remaining tails.,
  6. Make an initial sliding stitch to make a new loop color A on your crochet hook.Make shallow running stitches along the entire inside edge of the star, and then make shallow running stitches around your center as well.
  7. Cut the wool and tuck the tails inside the crochet star to hide them. With this, the star should be finished.
    • You can use a darning needle to thread the tails, or you can knot the tail of your wool in one of the stitches and cut it to hide it from view.

    • Form a ring around your fingers with the yarn from the ball on the right and the tail on the left.
    • Insert the hook into the ring, grab the ball of wool from behind, and pass it through the ring from the front.
    • Make a chain stitch.
    • Pull the two ends in opposite directions to close the ring.
  2. For the first round, thread five single stitches through the hole in the center of the magic ring.Use a slip stitch to join the last loop to the first single crochet in the round to close it.
    • For a single weave stitch, insert the hook through the appropriate stitch, grab the wool, and pull it back through the stitch.
      • Grab the wool again.
      • Pull the wool through the two loops on your crochet hook so that only one is left.
    • To make a running stitch, insert your hook into the next loop stitch, hook the yarn, and pull it through your project stitch and the loop on your hook.
  3. Chain one, then make two single crochets in the next stitch of the previous round.Repeat the operation 5 times, then close the round with another sliding stitch.
  4. To form a star tip, you will need to do a half double crochet, a double crochet, a triple crochet, a double crochet and another half double crochet in the same stitch, which should be next on the previous round.Repeat the action four times for a total of five tips.
    • Make a half double braid by wrapping the wool around the hook and inserting the hook into the appropriate place.
      • Wrap the wool over the hook again and pull it through the stitch.
      • Pull the wool over the hook one more time before pulling it through all three loops on the hook to complete the half double stitch.
    • To double braid, wrap the wool over the hook, insert it into the ring, and pass the wool over the hook again.
  5. Use the same process described above to make a second star of the same color and size as the first.
    • Trim the tail, leaving it long enough to sew the sides together.Thread the center tail into the points of the star.
  6. Use a darning needle with the remaining yarn tail of your star to sew the sides together. Before sewing the last half inch (1.25 cm), stuff the star with a small amount of fabric batting, giving the star a little more "softness".Finish sewing the side to complete the project.
