Steps
-
Empty the box, being careful not to light any matches.
-
Cut the match heads using the ends of the scissors.
-
Cut the ignition strips from the box. Most boxes have two stripes.
-
Form a ring with a strip. Make sure that the part used to light is the inside of the ring.Use tape to secure it.
-
Determine the type of fireball you want to create. Do you want a fireball that burns slowly or is more explosive?
- For a slow burning ball:
- Glue a thin layer of match heads to the inside of the ring.
- Make another ring with the other ignition strip but this time place the part you need to light on the outside. This will go around the outside of the other ring.
- Glue a thin layer of match heads to the outside of the second ring you made.
- Glue the remaining match heads inside the first ring.
- Use tape to seal the sides of the rings and secure them securely. The rings do not have to be hermetically sealed but must be tightly closed to prevent material from escaping. This must be done for safety reasons and to have complete combustion.
- For a more explosive fireball:
- Fill the inside of the ring with match heads and glue the end on top so the heads are trapped inside.
- Wrap this "structure" with clear tape making sure to cover all the empty spaces. You need to make the ring almost airtight without using too much tape.
- For a slow burning ball:
-
Throw it to the ground with force to make it burst into flames, but be careful.Advertising
Advice
- If you add flammable products make sure to throw it away from you.
- The more tape you use, the bigger the explosion will be.
- Make sure there are no gaps!
- Use a whole box of matches to get a bigger fireball.
- Use good quality tape to prevent melting.Alternatively, use a flammable ribbon to make a fireball that melts into a pool within the flame itself.
- You will have to throw it on the ground with enough force to light it.
- For a more violent fireball use more tape.Use less tape for a slower burning ball.
