Knowing a few basic crochet stitches will be enough to create a triangle, without too much difficulty.You can use triangular stitches to create a triangle within a larger piece, or you can make individual triangles, either with the row or lap method.

Create a basic chain. You will need to work chain stitches in multiples of three and then add a stitch to complete the chain stitch.For example, you could make a basic chain stitch made up of 19 (18+1) or 31 (30+1) chain stitches.

Make single crochets along the chain stitch. Create a single crochet in the second stitch from the hook.Then single crochet in each stitch of the previous row until the end of it.
- Turn your work over when you get to the end of the row.

Make four chain stitches. Make them directly from the loop already on the hook.
- This group of stitches will count both as a half double crochet and as an additional group of two chain stitches.

Throw away the yarn when you pick up the stitches. Skip the first stitch of the previous row, then wrap the yarn around the hook, insert it into the next stitch (the second stitch of the previous row) and grab it from the other side.Bring the thread back towards the front of the shirt.
- Repeat this process two more times, each time moving to the next stitch in the previous row.When you're done you should have seven buttonholes on your hook.
- From here the real triangular mesh begins.

Take out seven stitches. Throw the yarn back onto the hook and pull it through all seven loops you previously gathered on the hook.
- When you're done you should have just one buttonhole on your hook.
- This will complete the actual triangular stitch.

Make 2 chain stitches. Make them directly from the loop already on the hook.
- This will create a space between the individual triangular links.

Work another triangular stitch. Repeat the previous steps to create another one.
- Yarn over the hook and insert it through the last stitch of the previous triangle stitch.
- Take the thread with the hook from behind and push it back towards the front of the stitch.
- Insert the hook into the next stitch.Repeat the operation with the next stitch.
- Once you have gathered the seven loops, throw the yarn onto the hook and push it through the seven loops.
- This will complete your second triangular stitch.
Make two chains, make another triangular stitch following the previous steps.Repeat the process until the end of the row.

Work a chain stitch and a half double crochet. Make a chain stitch and then a half double crochet in the last single crochet of the previous row.

Work a chain stitch starting from the loop on the hook, to proceed to the next row.

Make single crochets along the row. The place of the individual stitches will change depending on their position in the row.
- Work a single crochet into the first stitch.
- Make a single crochet in the next space of chain number one in the previous row.
- Make 2 single crochets in the next space of the chain number two of the previous row.
- Make a single crochet in the next loop of the curved chain stitch from the previous row.
- Turn the work when you have finished this row.

Repeat as needed. At this point you should end up with:your foundation chain, the preparatory row, the first real row of triangle stitches and the second row in the middle.Repeat the steps of the row of triangular stitches and the row "in the middle" alternating them, until you reach the length you want.
- Cut the thread.Pull through the loop on the hook and knot the thread as tight as you can.Weave the excess tail at the back of the work, to prevent it from showing.

- These 6 stitches count as the first double crochet and as the first corner of your first round of triangles.

To tie a slip knot:
- Intersect the attached part of the thread with the loose part and create a buttonhole.
- Push the attached part of the thread into this loop from underneath, creating a second loop.Tighten the first buttonhole to secure the second.
- Insert the hook into the second loop and pull.
To make a chain stitch:
- Wrap the attached part of the thread, between the hook and the loop made on the hook.
- Pull the thread through this loop to complete the stitch.
To make a single crochet:
- Pass the hook through the established stitch.
- Take the thread with the hook and push it towards the front of the stitch.There should be two loops on the hook at this point.
- Wrap the yarn onto the hook.
- Push this thread through the loops on the hook.
To make a single crochet decrease:
- Insert the hook into the next stitch.Take the thread with the hook from behind and push it towards the front of the stitch.
- Then insert the hook into the stitch.Pick up the thread and throw it back into the front of the stitch.You should end up with three loops on your hook.
- Wrap the yarn around the hook and push it through the 3 loops on the hook.
To make a half double crochet:
- Wrap the yarn around the hook.Insert the hook into the established stitch.
- Wrap the yarn around the hook and push it through the front of the stitch.
- Wrap the yarn, once again, push it through the 3 loops to complete the stitch.
To make a double crochet:
- Take the thread with the crochet hook.
- Pass the hook through the established stitch.
- Push the yarn towards the front of the stitch, you should end up with 3 loops on the hook.
- Rewind the crochet thread and throw it through the first two loops.
- Wrap the yarn again, and throw it through the last two loops to complete the stitch.
To make a slip stitch:
- Insert the hook into the indicated stitch.
- Wrap the yarn onto the hook.
- Push it through the loops gathered on the hook to complete the stitch.
