Steps
-
Open the tank cap to allow air to pass through.
-
Find the fuel valve. Rotate it to the position where you can push it into the plastic cover over the fuel lines.
-
Remove the plastic cover that is over the ducts. You need to do this to be able to access the pipes easily; You shouldn't have any difficulty, there are usually a couple of large bolts holding the cover in place.
- To remove the cover you will need a wrench or socket.
-
Push the fuel valve through the cover and remove the cover.
- Check that the valve is closed; It's important that this is the case when you remove one side of the tube, as described in the next step.
-
Pinch and detach the aluminum clip that is on one side of the hose that is not connected to the tank. Keep a rag handy to wipe up any drops of gasoline that may be left in the hose you are removing (which goes into the carburetor). Then detach the pipe from the petrol valve; You may need pliers the first time, as it is usually sealed tightly. Not disconnect the pipe that goes into the tank, otherwise you will spill petrol everywhere.
-
Place the valve hose in a container large enough to hold the gasoline in the tank. It should be a 20-40 liter tank;Use a specific one if possible, so that you can pour the petrol into the car and not waste it.
-
Turn the valve to the open position. Let the fuel flow into the container until it is used up;when finished, restore the pipes and replace the cover.
-
Locate the carburetor. At its base there is a screw that opens to allow drainage and which is sometimes identified with a label;Consult the generator manual to find out where it is located.
-
Place a small container under the carburetor. Turn the screw to the left to open the drain hole, a small amount of petrol should come out.
-
Once the fuel has stopped coming out, turn the screw to the left to close it again.Advertising
