Backstitch is a stitch used in both embroidery and sewing.The stitches are sewn in the opposite direction to the direction of sewing, thus forming lines, and are generally used as an outline of figures or to add details to an embroidered image.It is a particularly good stitch for creating fine lines and details, as well as forming the basis for various stitch combinations.

    Thread the thread onto a needle and tie a knot in the end of the thread. Insert the needle into the fabric, about 6 millimeters, and then let it succeed.

    Tighten the thread tightly so that the knot rests against the fabric.

    Thread the needle over the knot, then returning upwards again, about 6 millimeters to the left of the previous stitch position.
