Check the bow for wear and tear to ensure it is safe enough to shoot an arrow.

Thread the rope through the lower end while holding the knot on the opposite side with your non-dominant hand.

Hold the top tip of the bow with your dominant hand.

Place the other end on the outside of your opposite foot.

Bring your dominant leg through the middle of the arch and push against your thigh, keeping the arched part away from your body.

Push the bow down and bend it so that the string slides through.

Gradually take the pressure off the bow and let the string begin to build up tension.

Check again for any wear on the bow that you may not have noticed before string tensioning.
