Many return in September events dedicated to cycling enthusiasts: rides, festivals, fairs which turn into the right opportunity to treat yourself to a trip with friends, discover new itineraries or take a look at what's new on the market.In this article we offer you a roundup of appointments, from historic cycling events to the Italian bike festival passing through the MIA Women Ride, an initiative for cyclists only, up to original ideas that lead us to look at and experience urban contexts in an unusual way, without forgetting events for those who love climbing, gravel and mountain biking.
Sella Ronda bike day
In addition to the traditional June event, the Sella Ronda bike day bissa in autumn. Saturday 7 September from 8.30am to 4pm all the Dolomite passes around the Sella (Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo, Gardena) will be closed to motorized traffic and reserved for those who wish to cycle.In total they are 58 kilometers of asphalted road with a difference in altitude of approximately 1,800 meters between the legendary Dolomite passes.

Italian bike festival, the international bike exhibition
From the 13 to 15 September in Misano Adriatico, in the province of Rimini, the weekly edition of theItalian bike festival, the international bike show that has attracted the attention of the European market since 2018 and which last year recorded an impressive 53 thousand visitors.
Three days in which visitors have the opportunity to learn about new trends and innovations in the sector represented by 600 brands.There is no shortage of round tables, talks and workshop moments on the topics of active mobility and cycle tourism. Italian bike festival also offers a rich race schedule:the Gialla cycling with a road granfondo, cycle touring races for racing and gravel bikes, races for very young people and beginners.
MIA women Ride, a cycling event for women only
Always from 13 to 15 September takes place there fourth edition of an initiative dedicated exclusively to women, namely the MIA women laugh, a shared journey that wants to leave its mark in the world of cycle tourism and sport.This year we will cycle from Verona to Bolzano on the cycle paths of Veneto, Trentino and Südtirol – Alto Adige for 200 kilometers divided into three stages.The invitation to participate is aimed at both experienced people and those who have never undertaken a bike trip and will therefore be able to have the opportunity to do so in company and in safety.Registrations are open until September 11th.
The event is organized by three different entities: Accidental cyclists, a duo of cycling tourists and bloggers among the best known in Italy, returning from their latest trip, the Gender equality ride.Next to them Witoor, a company specialized in organizing events such as Rando Imperator and the Bike Night tour and the AIDA-Alta Italia cycle route to cross, a project by Fiab, the Italian environmental and bicycle federation.
Events in Bergamo for cycling under the stars
The September 14th, Epicdays.cc organize one night ride from Bergamo to Clusone and back.An experience open to all that aims to discover Val Seriana, pedaling a total of 80 kilometres.This is obviously not a race but a moment of sharing and celebration where any type of bike is allowed.
Always in the city, from 15 to 29 September, come back Bergamo with different eyes, the company's initiative Luna and Gnac Theatre which proposes a narrative route by bicycle to the (re)discovery of local artists of the twentieth century in Bergamo.Men and women who contributed to enriching the cultural life of the area, a heritage to be found in the places that witnessed their passage:Giacomo Manzù, Pina and Benedetto Ravasio, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, the poet Rina Sara Virgillito.An exciting, engaging and intimate experience, guided by Federica Molteni and Michele Eynard which from Piazzetta San Marco onto Via Locatelli, will lead on a route of seven stages in different corners of the city.
Events for gravel and mtb:Craft beer trail and Grinduro Italia
Bikes and beer, as we know, go together as confirmed by the Craft beer trail, cycling event unsupported where the beer points with artisanal productions can be reached by overcoming gravel, earth and climbs.The appointment is for 21 and 22 September. The proposal is that of circular routes with departure and arrival at the Craft Village, Camping Adria in Riccione, designed for gravel, mtb and e-mtb.
Finally, for those who love trails, we remember the 27 and 29 September Grinduro Italy in Massa Marittima (Grosseto).A “socially paced cycling race” of approximately 100 kilometres, with four timed segments.The itinerary includes single track and asphalt sections.You cycle and party at the weekend with live music, camping and a convivial atmosphere.
