Steps
-
Wash the garment.
-
Buy some thermal transfer paper. You can buy it at stores such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart and other home improvement stores.Top brands include Hewlett-Packard, Epson and Avery.
- Pay attention to the details on the packaging. If the garment in question is dark in color, look for heat transfer paper that is suitable for dark colors.
-
Prepare the transfer.
- Upload the photo to your computer.
- Use Paint or a similar program to adjust the photo size as needed.Make sure you are happy with the color level and shape.
- Note:Better to round the corners of the photo to prevent them from peeling after washing the garment several times.
- Keep in mind that the white spaces in the photo will have the color of the chosen garment.
- Test by printing the photo on regular paper. If you are not satisfied with the result, adjust the image as you prefer.
-
Follow the instructions you received with the heat transfer paper. Don't rush and pay attention to details. It's a complicated process but everything will go well if done correctly.
-
Keep the image away from food, drinks and greasy hands after printing. It's no fun ruining a heat transfer. This type of paper is very expensive and must be kept in good condition.
-
Be careful not to tear the transfer when removing the back sticker.
-
Make sure your iron emits steam before ironing the sheet. If there is steam, this will ruin the transfer.
-
Iron on a hard, non-porous surface instead of on the ironing board. The ironing board is too soft for this project.
-
Do not wash the garment for at least 24 hours.Advertising
