Painting a concrete floor is a great way to improve the aesthetics and efficiency of a room.Since concrete has particular characteristics, it therefore needs special attention. To get the best results it will take at least 2 weeks of work.
The concrete must be completely clean to allow the insulation and paint to adhere well.Use two products to clean it, one to remove dirt and debris and the other to remove the white dust that sometimes forms on damp concrete.
The insulation will reduce the humidity that ruins the paint.
-
Apply 2 or 3 coats of insulation to the floor. Allow the sealant to work by waiting a few days between coats, use it and dilute it according to the manufacturer's information.
-
After each pass, use a roller to smooth the insulation across the floor, overlapping each pass slightly.
-
Use a brush to apply the insulation to the edges and corners of the room.Advertising
This is the last step of the procedure.
-
Pour some masonry paint into a paint container.
-
Dip the roller into the container, soaking it well.
-
Pass the paint over the floor evenly, slightly overlapping the passes.
-
Apply paint to the corners and edges using a brush.
-
Let the paint dry for at least 24 hours for each coat, for best results do 2 or 3 coats.Advertising
Advice
- Use the same brand of primer and paint that are suitable for concrete for best results.
