Electric cars, the 'home charging station bonus' arrives:here's when to request it

The contribution concerns purchases and installations carried out from 1 January 2024 by individual citizens or condominiums

ROME – The 'Home charging station bonus' will start at 12.00 on 8 July 2024, which supports the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure by individuals and condominiums.The incentive is promoted by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy and is managed by Invitalia. The financial envelope is 20 million euros. The contribution concerns purchases and installations carried out from 1 January 2024 by natural persons resident in Italy and by condominiums represented by the administrator pro tempore or by a delegated condominium owner.

Capital contributions they cover 80% of the purchase and installation price of the charging infrastructure (for example columns or wall boxes). The maximum contribution limit is 1,500 euros for private users and 8,000 euros in the case of installation in the common areas of condominium buildings.The application can be submitted online from 12.00 on 8 July 2024 via the appropriate IT platform.
