PESARO – Work has begun to give new life to the San Silvestro Park in Pietrarubbia, Municipality of Monfefeltro, at the gates of Sasso Simone and Simoncello Regional Park, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino.With the restyling of the green area and the "little house" located within it, and the activation of services for visitors, it will become the starting point for trekking or cycling excursions, but also a location for parties, picnics and events dedicated to local artistic craftsmanship. The green area of San Silvestro "needed a decisive restyling to be a more usable place not only by citizens, but also by tourists and visitors, so it can represent a real gateway to the paths of the Sasso Park Simone and Simoncello”, explains the mayor Maria Assunta Paolini.
NEW SERVICES FOR VISITORS, ALSO THE 'CASINA' FOR PIC NIC AND BARBECUE
After a long period of waiting, linked to bureaucratic delays, the intervention finally started with the start of the work by the company appointed by the administration.“Once the cutting of dry and unsafe plants was completed, work began arrangement of the walls which have suffered several failures over the years", explains the mayor. But the jobs will also be of interest the small building located inside the park which will then be able to offer various services to visitors.Starting from the toilets which will be left open and accessible in the summer months. But the kitchen and barbecue can also be used upon request by visitors picnics and events. The structure lends itself to the service of multiple activities by hikers, given that the San Silvestro park is at the center of several itineraries, Cai paths, bike paths and bridle paths of the Regional Park and Montefeltro.
“GDP CONTRIBUTIONS ARE DETERMINANT TO BRING ECONOMY TO SMALL MUNICIPALITIES”
To open the "little house" it will be sufficient to contact the municipal offices or the nearby tourist information point of the Park.“We hope to complete the work shortly, in order to be able to offer the new spaces as early as this summer,” clarifies the mayor. The total cost of the intervention at the San Silvestro park is approximately 61,000 euros, of which 30,000 euros financed by the GDP and the rest by the Municipality of Pietrarubbia. In particular, the restyling falls within the Local Integrated Project 'The paths of experience at the origins of Montefeltro', implemented through funds from Psr Marche, managed by Gat Montefeltro Sviluppo, and provides for public-private interventions in seven municipalities Macerata Feltria, Mercatino Conca, Monte Grimano Terme, Montecopiolo, Monte Cerignone, Pietrarubbia and Sassofeltrio– for a total contribution of approximately 500.000 euro.“GDP contributions are a fundamental aid for small municipalities like ours, otherwise certain interventions would not be possible,” underlines Paolini. And instead "they are crucial in being able to offer services aimed at encouraging the arrival and stay of tourists who bring added value to local activities".
“AFTER RESTYLING THE PARK, AT WORK FOR CHILDREN'S GAMES AND E-BIKE RECHARGES”
The completeness of the intervention also goes in this direction Italy Square Of Capuchin Bridge, where there are parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and bicycles.“It is the square where the information point of thePark Authority and it is very close to San Silvestro”, explains Paolini. It will therefore be useful for those who intend to access the green area and go on excursions along the paths that start from there.“Circular seats have already been placed in the small square and in the future we want to insert electric columns for green bicycles”, explains the mayor, looking ahead.Even the arrangement of the San Silvestro park does not represent a point of arrival.“Always with the aim of livening up the area and making it a meeting place for tourists and families - explains Paolini finally - in the near future we would like to include open air games, such as slides and swings, and we intend to take action to find funds and coverage to continue on this street"."
