The winners have been revealed Comedy Pet Photo Awards 2023, the annual competition that celebrates the funniest and funniest photos of four-legged friends (and not only), established by two English photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam «to celebrate the positive and vital role that pets have in our life and to encourage commitment to animal welfare".The absolute triumph was the photo of the two kittens, Alex and Max, saved from the street, immortalized while playing with each other by the Lebanese photographer Michel Zoghzoghi. The winner, who won a prize of 500 pounds and a technical photographer's grant, explained that the photo contains «an event that changes my life:Alex is the shy one, Max is the playful one:together they make an incredibly cute couple.I had more fun photographing these two kittens than during my more adventurous nature photography trips."

The winning photo in the Junior category

For the Junior category, the winner was 13-year-old Brazilian Monyque Macedo Dos Santos, who portrayed her dog Louis hidden between the sofa cushions, while secretly "aiming" at a tennis ball:«There is a hiding place under the sofa where Louis likes to hide, that day I took his tennis ball from “his place”, he got angry and stuck his head out of the hole barking to get his ball back. That's when I took the photo."

The other winning photos

In addition to the two main winners, there are 9 other photos that have won the hearts and sympathies of users.Among these was that of photographer Chris Porsz, an amateur photographer, who won thanks to «a shot that I almost took by chance:by a stroke of luck, just as the dog's owner threw the ball, I instinctively raised my camera and took the shot. The dog was looking at the owner and then lunged and turned in mid-air to catch the ball."

Among the winners there is also the shot of the cat portrayed by Kazutoshi Onoe, with the feline landing with an enviable pose to say the least, in perfect Olympic style.
